As I’ve shared, we’ve spent the past week enjoying vacation at the beach. Charlie and I packed Ellie, the guys, and pretty much everything we own into the mini-van and drove the 10 hours to Panama City Beach.
Yup…we’re extreme adventurers. If you’ve ever made a lengthy road-trip with a toddler, I probably don’t need to elaborate on that, huh?
My parents also drove down and met us, and it was wonderful having their help with the baby. There was some initial gloomy weather, and some brief unpleasantness involving some ignorant people and some bad news from the doctor. However, despite the bumps, we had a lovely trip, and I think we made some pretty fabulous memories.
Like when we went to the marine park and Ian made a new friend.
And Herdest boogied down with some dolphins.
And I got a big wet one from the this sexy beast.
Then Herdest caught a jellyfish and paraded it up and down the beach. I wouldn’t begin to comment on whether or not the guys enjoyed the attention from bikini-clad admirers who came to see. Ahem…not saying a word. Not one single word!
We splashed in the pool.
Enjoyed some lovely meals.
Failed at dodging the camera. Gotcha Nana!
And played until the point of exhaustion.
We soaked up the sun, dug our toes into the sand, sucked in the wind, and lived a little.
Overall, it was a blessed week. And now, almost back home, I think we’re all going to remember our beach adventure with a smile and dream of the next time we can all get away together. Oh, and next time, a certain sister of mine better find a way to join us!
Hope you make some good memories with your loved ones this week!
